Activities
Sanity reminder:
We only have 5 days and limited energy. We could bike to Amsterdam and within Amsterdam at least for 1 day. Can do 1 day of Utrecht. Can do 1 day at a small town.
In the camping site:
The camping site is in a big park/forest. It has a lot of surroundings that can be explored. Large tree in summer, water, canoeing. Some people are directed specifically to this forest when visiting the Netherlands.
In Utrecht:
- Train to Utrecht (€17.60 per person for Day Return tickets from ns.nl, 10% discount if bought 4 days in advance)
- Domtoren (€12,50 per person)
- Walk around
- It also has a canal but fewer people
- Sonnenborgh observatory
- Botanical Garden
In Amsterdam:
- Museums: According to various things I've read, some museums are tourist traps. Need to find something more like Museo del Oro and less like Museo de la Esmeralda.
- Biking aimlessly along the canal The city center could be interesting as a glance, but it's probably crowded and expensive.
- Walking around - Houseboat museum
- Public library
- Paddle boat rental?
- Free ferries?
- Is a city card worth it?
